Tumaini-Swahili word for hope. "Hope for the broken"
In exactly two months from today I will be in Zambia, Africa starting my internship. I'm so excited for this opportunity, and especially for the chance to see some of my kids that I got to spend time with when I was in Africa in 2007.
Just to update you all, here are the current financial deadlines:
March 10th-$400.00 due. DEADLINE MET!
April 5th- $2,000 due.
May 15th-$3,100 due.
As you can see, the grand total of this trip will be $5,500 which includes, airfare, training in Texas, lodging and food in Africa, as well as medical coverage and in-country transportation. It's a large amount, but I know God is faithful and will provide!
I'm working on some fundraisers in the time I have left before leaving for Africa.
-Spaghetti dinner in Sacramento, dates TBA
-Benefit concert is Rancho Cordova, tentatively April 24th
-Working with local churches in Redding to sell bracelets before/after their services to the congregations
-Possible car washes in the future, last one was rained out!!
The bracelets are simple, and $5.00 each, all profits going towards my trip. If you or a friend is interested in buying one, please contact me!! I'll try to have a picture of them up soon.
Also, I should have a paypal link up on this site soon as well, so that you can donate online through this page.
Keep checking for updates, and be sure to pass this site along to all your friends and family!!
